"...one of Mathew’s strengths is his inclusiveness; his ability to tailor classes to suit all abilities so those of us with less flexibility or stamina are always able to join in whilst other people are free to choose a more demanding variation of a pose or exercise.....and it means there’s always something to aspire to."
Diane Kaylor, Bodywise Natural Health Centre

"I didn't get time to talk to you after the Ashtanga class today but I wanted to say that was the best, most enjoyable class I have ever attended. I really love your style of teaching.
Over the years I have tried to find a class I like but sometimes the teacher didn't do it for me (...)
I was so happy after I left your class that I am determined to carry on coming."

I have felt very welcome at all of the classes I've tried and particularly enjoyed the workshop - it was great to understand more about each of the movements and what was happening to the spine, why it was beneficial etc. The 3 hours went very fast!
Since attending the workshop, I think I get more out of the class because, i was trying to do every version of the movements and now just stick to the beginners level and do more of them and will gradually build up.

"I did Ashtanga yoga for a few years when I lived in Dubai with a wonderful teacher and have never been able to find an equivalent teacher since I moved back to the UK 3 years ago. I have tried a few classes with various yoga teachers in Manchester but never went back. Your class last night was excellent, everything I hoped and I will be signing up for 15 classes next week. Thank you Mathew, Namaste, Emma"

My first ever yoga class was with Mathew in Ashtanga - quite a tough style of yoga to start with. I found his teaching and instruction sensitive and clear and appreciated his desire to encourage everyone to drop the "yoga ego" which we can all feel in class! I had fun and learnt to be take it easy on myself so that I was not scared off by trying too hard or injury!
I have since been to Mathew's weekly classes and workshops which I have loved!
I have now been practicing yoga for 6 years and would continue to go to Mathew's classes had I not moved away from the UK.
I highly recomend him as a teacher!
